Meet Cru Halliday

04th Oct 2019 News, Racing

He describes himself as a loud extrovert, but he’s focussed and fast when he’s behind a set of handlebars.

Cru Halliday is a member of Yamaha’s YRT Racing Team, the current 600 Supersport Champion and is a front-runner for the 2019 ASBK Superbike title.
Halliday will be cutting laps and chatting to everyone at the Yamaha R-Experience, Monday October 14 at Sydney Motosport Park. the event is less than two weeks before the final round of the 2019 championship, which Halliday is aiming to win. The R-Experience is for R-Series Yamaha owners to enjoy a great day at the track, riding and being coached by motoDNA – it’s your chance to experience a GP circuit.

Cru has been around a while – he’s done the hard yards as a privateer in the past and moved from Superbike to Supersport in 2018. At first that might feel like a step backwards, but moving from a privately funded Superbike to a YRT Supersport ride was a smart move for the New South Welshman.
The former coal miner won the 2018 title for Yamaha, and did it handily – he didn’t have it all his own way at the start of the season when the bike was basically stock, but once it was set up the title never really looked in doubt.

For 2019 he’s moved back to the Superbike class and has been very competitive, but Halliday has been very consistent an with two rounds of the championship to run, is within striking distance of taking the Australian Superbike title out.
The Yamaha R-Experience is just $195 – Book Now.
